Fourth of July…

Ben and I displaying some serious sexiness on the Fourth of July.

Rich was kind enough to capture Ben and I on film this past weekend. I might have to pop my collar again the next time Ben and I hit the tennis courts; it might just give me a chance against his crazy southpaw serves.

Allison and I took the kids over to Joe and Claire’s house to celebrate the Fourth of July with family and friends this weekend.  Although we certainly enjoyed the food and the company, I think the highlight of the day was watching Extreme Pig Outs and Extreme Terror Rides on the Travel Channel.  I’m obviously a man of very refined taste.

It's never too early to start!

A little bit rusty…

It may be a new domain, but I am now back online.  So where do I begin?

Men can do nothing without the make-believe of a beginning. Even Science, the strict measurer, is obliged to start with a make-believe unit, and must fix on a point in the stars’ unceasing journey when his sidereal clock shall pretend that time is at Nought. His less accurate grandmother Poetry has always been understood to start in the middle; but on reflection it appears that her proceeding is not very different from his; since Science, too, reckons backwards as well as forwards, divides his unit into billions, and with his clock-finger at Nought really sets off in medias res. No retrospect will take us to the true beginning…

This well-known opening to George Eliot’s Daniel Deronda always comes to mind when I start something, so as I begin developing (once again) a new website it only seems fitting to borrow her words for my first post.  This site will likely be under perpetual construction in the coming months, as my web skills are rusty and my time limited.  Still, I intend to begin blogging immediately as I slowly reacquaint myself with web design.  It may not be pretty at this point, but there will be content.  Welcome, and welcome back.
